The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $66,810.52 to $91,055, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

General Description
Under supervision of the MH Adult Services Director, performs routine managerial work overseeing the daily operations and activities of the following programs. MH Intake, MCOT, Pathways, Outpatient Competency Restoration, Jail Based Competency Restoration, Crisis Intervention Team, SUD Community Health Worker Program, Turning Point, and PATH. Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and developing and evaluating budget requests. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under general supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Needs a minimum of a advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education or early childhood intervention. Five plus years' experience in management of a division or department relevant to the assignment. Familiar with HHSC/LMHA/crisis care systems services.
Preferred: Licensed in the state of Texas or a reciprocity state as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist or Licensed Marriage and/or Family Therapist. Five (5) years management experience in a Local Mental Health Authority.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws relating to adult mental health and of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
Ability to manage program activities; to establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative problems; to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures; to prepare reports; to communicate effectively; and to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
