The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly Wage: $26.97
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Under the supervision of the Crisis Intervention Team Supervisor, Crisis Intervention Team Forensic Case Managers are embedded with CCPD and serve as one half of the Crisis Intervention Team. Team member is responsible for providing rapid response when dispatched with CIT officers in the community. Services to be provided include crisis assessment, intervention, and coordination of diversion from arrest and incarceration based on established processes. Team members are responsible for linking and coordinating care for eligible persons with a mental illness and/or co-occurring disorder who are being diverted from incarceration. Team member will work alongside CIT officers to facilitate services. Job includes working side by side with CIT trained police officers. When not on CIT team rotation staff is responsible for assisting and providing services at Pathways Crisis Respite unit. When not on CIT team rotation staff is responsible for assisting and providing services at Pathways Crisis Respite Unit. Adheres to established training and service delivery standards including the use of evidenced based practices, establishes and maintains open communication law enforcement, communicates directly with in-house Jail personnel, other Crisis Intervention Team Members and Mobile Crisis Outreach team members to ensure individuals served gain access to psychiatric, substance abuse, medical, social, vocational, and other services and supports. Staff are required to report any misdemeanor offenses or other involvement with the criminal justice system to Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's or advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, criminal justice, human growth and development, Physician Assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
