The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $14.75 to $15.80, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Performs receptionist duties that include serving visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing appropriately; notifies staff of visitor arrival; maintains visitor sign-in-log for security purposes, performs data entry as assigned; performs fee collections for services provided to consumers and acts as backup telephone operator as needed. Collects Initial Contact forms and verifies consumer's insurances daily. Works under supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Refers problems to a lead supervisor. Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED, plus some experience in clerical duties. Must have reliable transportation.
Preferred: One year of progressively responsible receptionist experience. One year of face-to-face customer service and answering the public's questions and or/directing them to the right person. One year of computer experience entering data into a database.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices. Knowledge of business terminology, office practices and procedures; of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and arithmetic. Skill in using Word-Processing and Excel formats. Ability to make basic mathematical computations; maintain and prepare fee collections and tabulations. Skills required operating office machines.
