The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $76,999.71 to $85,370.96, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Under supervision of the UM/Mental Health Director, is responsible for management, oversight, and implementation of the Center's utilization management plan and clinical supervision, training, and guidance of the Mental Health service system. Work involves coordinating, organizing, assessing, and conducting training sessions using a variety of training methods. Development of the UM policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with Center funding and accreditation/regulatory agencies. Serves as the Center's Compliance Officer and chairs the compliance committee. Provides clinical supervision as directed in accordance with contract and regulatory standards. Diagnoses and provides assessment as needed. Works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Responsible for Medicaid Managed Care contracts and program planning, policy development relevant to assignment, and intra-agency coordination of services from a utilization management perspective.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited university, maintains licensure as an LPHA in the state of Texas, has at minimum 5 years' experience in clinical mental health with clinical experience in both adult and youth/adolescent populations. Has demonstrated understanding of basic psychopharmacology and medical/psychiatric comorbidities. Has a minimum of two years' experience in program management and oversight in clinical mental health and has demonstrated competence to perform UM activities.
Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid Texas driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
