The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly Wage: $17.55

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Performs routine to moderately complex (journey level) human resources administrative and technical assistance work within a human resources management department, in areas such as recruitment and selection, compensation, classification, employee relations and engagement, benefits and all backgrounds. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Will act as primary and secondary backup to the other positions in the human resources department.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in human resources administrative and technical assistance work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent supplemented by courses in human resources management is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License, maintain a good driving record and provide proof of financial responsibility. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources. Demonstrates a clear understanding of confidentiality. Proficient skills in oral and written communication. Excellent skills in operating computer programs including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Learn the human resources related software application, eDatis. Must be able to multiple tasks and prioritize daily activities. Ability to evaluate application qualifications, to analyze job requirements, to prepare job descriptions, and to communicate effectively. Must have excellent customer services skills and excellent listening and comprehension skills. Attends work as scheduled and be available to work overtime or weekends as needed. In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
