The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, is responsible for performing moderately complex Vocational Nurse work. Assist nurses in obtaining reports and records from medical records. Performs nursing function as appropriate. Assist medical staff in performing procedures. Performs related work as assigned and trained. Assist during codes per protocol. Coordinates with Health Care Team. Provides health teachings and training. Performs injections. Orders Labs, interprets and coordinates Lab results.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing
• Valid Texas LVN license
• Valid Texas Driver's license with a good driving record

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In the course of being employed, understands, and implements trauma informed care practices.
• Skills in the use of equipment used in patient care.
• Ability to plan, evaluate and provide patient care.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
