The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary for Intern Level License: $58,477.77
Salary for Full License: $62,642.85
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Under the supervision of IDD Transitions Support Team Supervisor, this position performs advanced (senior-level) health services or social services consultative work. Work involves assisting in the planning and execution of the Transition Support Team Services for individuals with IDD transitioning from or at risk for placement in institutions and ensuring those clients and their families receive quality services. Reviews and analyzes reports and consults on cases. Evaluates and delivers recommendations to the team. Assists with planning, developing, and administering other transition support activities and services. May provide educational or training in field of expertise. Preforms related work as assigned. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Master's Degree or a degree applicable to licensure in a health related or human services field. Must be fully licensed, or able to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire, in the State of Texas in a health related field including, but not limited to, Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech Therapist, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA). Experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, and/or other related-conditions. Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish. Two years' experience working with individuals diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who have medical, mental health and/or behavior support needs or with linking people with IDD to mental health supports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of mental illness and/or emotional components of physical illness; of rehabilitation methods; of casework principles; of community resources; and of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of area of licensure. Skill in interviewing. Ability to evaluate reports and analyze data, to evaluate social assessments and make treatment plans, and to communicate effectively. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to the IDD Services; Skill in operating a computer and applicable software.
