The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary/Exempt: $55,491.39-$61,524.29

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Under supervision of Youth Services Director. Provides administrative and managerial responsibilities for the Youth Empowerment Services (YES) along with assistance in regular youth program activities. Responsible for managing the delivery of services and maintaining quality improvement cycles. Provides oversight, guidance, and supervision to Wraparound services, Wraparound Facilitators and contracted staff assigned to program. Work involves assisting in reaching program goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations. Responsible for monitoring and achieving contract requirements and evaluating program activities. Supervises quality and quantity of work conducted by responsible staff. Will manage a caseload during overflow. Maintains compliance of all standards (JOINT COMMISSION, Medicaid, and NCMHID OPM).

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's or advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education or early childhood intervention. Plus one (1) year of supervisory experience in a related program, which includes planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating activities. Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid Texas driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.

Preferred: Experience working with youth population

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of mental illness, psychotropic medications and their side effects
  • Demonstration of the clinical competencies required by agency-approved, standardized training
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to participate as a team member; work cooperatively with professionals and non-professionals
  • Experience in the use of teaching and counseling techniques and rehabilitation services required in providing effective assistance to persons with disabilities
  • Considerable knowledge of assessment techniques and tools; case management principles
  • Knowledge of client care techniques, and of treatment, therapy and of developmental programs
  • Ability to plan an individualized program of instruction with the client
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to formulate, organize, and implement a plan of action.
  • In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices
