Salary/Exempt: $74,395.86 - $85,370.96
Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, performs highly advanced and/or managerial nursing work. Work involves determining nursing service requirements and providing for the care and treatment of clients. Plans, assigns and supervises the work of others and serves as supervisor of the clinic nursing staff and in consultation with the MH Director and Medical Director. Provides staff training and serves on Center committees. Responsible for tracking, monitoring and reporting any communicable infections to Safety Committee in compliance with the Center's Infection Control Plan and the Joint Commission. Works under general direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Responsible for compliance with relevant standards including DSHS, Medicaid, Medicare and the Joint Commission. In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed as a Registered Nurse, plus four (4) years of work experience as an RN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or health care facility OR, a bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited program, plus three (3) year of work experience as an RN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or health care facility OR, a master's degree in nursing from an accredited program, one (1) year of work experience as an administrative RN. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or in a party state that recognized reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure compact as described in Art. 4528b of the Nurse Practice Act.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of nursing techniques and procedures, and of the laws and ordinances governing public health and hospital operations. Ability to plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others; to provide patient care; to prepare and maintain records; to organize, coordinate and evaluate nursing activities; and to interpret policies and procedures.
