Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $48,554.60 to $53,833.36, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

General Description
Performs complex social service work specified for consumers with a substance use diagnosis. The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) works under the general supervision of the Forensic ACT Supervisor. The primary duties of this position are to assist in the provision of treatment for conditions and problems relating to substance use disorders for the MH Adult service populations. Conducts or assists in conducting individual and group counseling sessions and instructional sessions. Facilitate and co-facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions as required per program curriculum per week. Maintain a knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Complete required assessment, psycho-social history, and testing on all incoming clients; Develop an individual treatment plan for each client within his/her assigned caseload based on program needs; Complete all required documentation and/or required forms for those clients who are assigned their caseload and Assist in the coordination of client program schedules to ensure the needs of the client and goals set by the individual treatment plan are met. Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system; Ability to make accurate and appropriate counselor inferences, assessments, judgments and appropriate referrals to maximize consumer wellbeing. Required basic knowledge of referral and residential placement process within the criminal justice system; ability to assess consumer condition and determine effective treatment alternatives; Personal commitment to uphold and adhere to the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's or advance degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field including, but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, and education.
Must be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
All Substance Abuse-related trainings must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Preferred: Plus, one to two years of work experience in rehabilitation services. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
