The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $72,384.00 to $92,092.66, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Performs highly advanced (senior-level) computer system programming and analysis. Designs, plans, and implements systems/programs to respond to Center information needs. Works under the general director of the Director of IT with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of a four(4) year college or university with major course study in computer science or related field. May substitute one year of educational experience for each year of systems analysis, design, programming, or data management experience. 
Extensive experience in systems analysis and design computer programming work. Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record. Expert level proficiency in SQL programming with at least 4 years of programming experience. Experience managing relational databases (SQL) with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Preferred: 5+ years’ experience with SQL programming. 2+ years’ experience with Power BI dashboards. 2+ years’ experience administering Microsoft Intune. 5+ years’ experience managing relational databases (SQL). 2+ years’ experience working in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma-informed care practices.
  • Plans, designs, develops, implements, supports and maintains information technology and ensures appropriate training prior to implementation of system modification and offers guidance during and after the implementation process as requested or as directed.
  • Makes recommendations to the Director of IT concerning the direction of the agency's systems.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in the development and execution of enterprise level strategies and technical direction, including establishing processes and procedures for executing and maintaining technology directions.
  • Develops functional design specifications to meet requirements and solve complex operational issues.
  • Coordinates and/or tests and diagnoses systems to ensure critical requirements are met. Plans and schedules system implementations.
  • Studies and prepares reports that include findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations: formulates logical descriptions of problems and devices and implements optimum solutions.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned and works as a team player for the success of the Center.
