The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly/Non-Exempt: $23.01 - $24.65

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Under the general direction of the IT Director, performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The employee will ensure accurate transmittal of data to state systems including CMBHS, CARE and other electronic data exchanges as necessary. This position will communicate electronically and telephonically with clinical and administrative staff regarding corrections needed in the electronic health record and State databases. Will conduct regular data audits, maintain clinical forms and generate reports that support quality improvement, regulatory compliance and patient care initiatives. Will maintain accurate records of changes made in the data system and identify patterns of data entry errors and report trends to IT Director for follow up.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and/or education in a field relevant to the work being performed. Will be familiar with clinical data systems and have excellent organizational skills. Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

Some Experience with Excel

Experience using or managing Electronic Health Records

Excellent Organization Skills

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Related Field

Intermediate knowledge of Excel (Formulas, Pivottables, Xlookup, Match)

Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 and DSM-V diagnoses

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Strong computer skills including literacy in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others. .
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and software.
  • Develops functional design specifications to meet requirements and solve complex operational issues.
  • Ability to change focus quickly and efficiently as priorities change.
