Performs entry-level administrative and technical work. Work involves assisting in the administration of the Human Resources department, ensuring compliance with state and federal law regulations, disseminating information, maintaining filing systems, and performing internal administrative support work. Manages the Center telephone system and greets walk-in customers presenting a customer service approach. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative independent judgement. Understands the confidentiality is mandatory. Will be trained and will serve as the primary back-up to the Human Resources Assistant and be available to temporarily back up other positions in the department as assigned.
Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, is responsible for performing moderately complex medical aide work. Assist nurses in obtaining reports and records form medical records. Performs nursing functions as appropriate. Assist medical staff in performing procedures. Performs related work as assigned and trained.
Under supervision of the General Revenue/Community-First-Choice-Texas Home Living (GCT) supervisor, performs advanced (senior-level) case management work. Work may involve coordinating case management and program activities, helping to develop program goals, objectives, and procedures, and evaluating outcome measures for the program. May review the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
Provides on-going services to assist people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in developing their Person Directed Plan (PDP) and Transition/Diversion Plan. Completes screening and assessments to identify the services and supports to be provided to address the consumer's identified needs and desired outcomes. Arranges for the delivery of the identified services/supports and monitors the effectiveness of these and the need for additional or different services/supports through GR, TxHmL, and HCS programs.
Under the immediate supervision of the Mental Health Director, performs moderately complex Management, utilizing initiative and independent judgement. Responsible Diversion Center Operations. The Diversion Center Director leads the planning, operations, compliance, and performance management of the Diversion Center an alternative location for crisis intervention and/or for law enforcement to drop off adults (18+) with mental illness or co-occurring disorders (COPSD) who are at risk of arrest and do not meet criteria for an acute crisis.
The Educational Resource Clinician with the Behavioral Health Partnership Program (BHPP) is a mental health professional that will serve as a mental health and substance use resource for school districts located in the region served by Education Service Center (ESC) Region 2. Responsible for increasing awareness and understanding of mental health and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Assisting school personnel with implementing initiatives regarding these areas and ensuring local school personnel are aware of recommended best practice-based programs and other resources in the community. Facilitate trainings regarding effects of grief and trauma, substance use and abuse, intervention and prevention, and Mental Health First Aid. Must be available to deliver trainings on weekends if needed. Position will be housed at ESC 2.
Under the supervision of the Intake Program Supervisor, the roles involve conducting screenings and assessments to determine eligibility for intakes and admission to adult mental health services. Responsibilities include completing intake procedures and conducting diagnostic evaluations for authorization under the supervision of the Intake Program Supervisor and/or other available Licensed Practitioners of the Healing Arts (LPHA). Crisis assessments and interventions are carried out promptly when necessary. The position facilitates linkage to both internal and external providers based on individuals’ needs, with a focus on discharging individuals to the least restrictive environment possible.
Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through DSHS could be obtained. This position can offer CBT to individuals meeting the state’s level of care criteria, as well as facilitating groups, as necessary.
Under supervision of the Transition Support Team & IDD Crisis Services Supervisor with consultation with the IDD Services Director, contracted agency provides out-of-home crisis respite services. Services would include providing therapeutic support in a safe environment with staff on-site providing 24-hour supervision for up to 14 calendar days to an individual who is demonstrating a crisis that cannot be stabilized in a less intensive setting. Out of home crisis respite is provided in the following settings: an ICF/IID; a HCS group home; an HCS-authorized Crisis respite facility; an HHSC-authorized crisis residential facility; or a LIDDA-operated facility.
Must comply with all contract, Medicaid, HHSC, and Joint Commission standards as well as other applicable standards as they arise.
Under supervision of the PASRR Supervisor, consultation with the LIDDA Director and IDD Services Director, contracted agency provides Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Specialized Services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in nursing facilities (NF) within the Local IDD Authority’s (LIDDA) service area of Nueces County. Specialized services may include independent living skills training, day habilitation, employment assistance, or supported employment.
