The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $65,229.36 Yr., the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description
Will provide psychotherapy, skills training, and case management as authorized by HHS TRR model. Will provide therapy and rehab services using HHS approved curricula. Will perform intake assessments. Works towards positive consumer outcomes by reducing symptoms and increasing level of functioning. Community based services.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the fields of Psychology, Counseling or Social Work. Must be licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or LCSW by the State of Texas. Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle to conduct business. Must have valid driver's license at all times, liability insurance and a good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstration of the clinical competencies required by agency approved  standardized training
• Valid Texas Driver's license
• Computer literate
• Ability to participate as a team member.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to assess individuals through interview.
• Knowledge of psychopathology as described in DSM-5
• Experience in the use of counseling techniques to treat persons with mental disorders
• Ability to plan treatment for consumers.
• Ability to interact effectively with families and other members of the community
